District to Host Teacher Recruitment Fair
March 8, 2012
Representatives from seven school districts, including the Bibb County School District, will interview prospective employees at the Middle Georgia Teacher Recruitment Day on Saturday, March 17, 2012. The recruitment fair will be held at Westside High School in Macon and will begin at 9 a.m. and end at noon.
Sponsored by the Middle Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency, the seven school districts represented at the fair will include Bibb County, Crawford County, Jasper County, Jones County, Monroe County, Peach County, and Twiggs County. These systems hire between 300 and 500 new teachers annually.
"We are looking forward to hosting the annual Middle Georgia Teacher Recruitment Day on Saturday, March 17, at Westside High School," says Shannon L. Dotsikas, Coordinator of Talent Acquisition for the Bibb County School District. "We are excited to see new teachers come into our area and work with our students. Of course, we are always looking for teachers, especially in the critical shortage areas such as Foreign Language, Mathematics, Science, and Special Education. This is a great opportunity for candidates to come by and meet with school representatives."
Each candidate should come prepared with 20 copies of his or her resume. Participants are urged to sign up for a brief interview with school representatives or simply drop off a resume. The event also will include Teacher Academy for Preparation and Pedagogy (TAPP) Information Sessions at 9:15 a.m., 10:15 a.m., and 11:15 a.m.
Westside High School is located at 2851 Heath Road, Macon, Ga. For more information, contact the Middle Georgia Regional Educational Service Agency at (478) 988-7170.
