Williams Elementary to Host CRCT Pep Rally
April 5, 2012
Williams Elementary School will help students get pepped up for the upcoming Criterion-Referenced Competency Test (CRCT). The school will host a CRCT Motivational Pep Rally on Monday, April 9, at 1 p.m.
Students, staff, and parents will take part in the event, which is designed to offer students tips for taking the CRCT and to give them a chance to dance away any stress from the upcoming test. Highlights include a question-and-answer session featuring strategies of what students should do the night before the CRCT to prepare, a video presentation by fifth grade teacher Jeremy Mayweather, and motivational speeches by parents Darryl and LaShanda Jackson.
Chants, cheers, dancing, and musical performances will also help students get pepped up for their tests. Former Williams Elementary student CMD Styles will perform his song "I Love My City" and guest DJ from Martha Bowman Memorial United Methodist Church Evelyn Barrett will sing the song "Man in the Mirror."
Greater Allen Chapel will provide refreshments during the event, and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. will provide No. 2 pencils to all the students at the school in grades 3-5.
Williams Elementary School is located at 325 Pursley Street. For more information, contact Instructional Coach Priscilla Stanley at the school at (478) 779-3650.
