Hartley Elementary Second-Graders to Present MLK Program

Hartley Elementary School will host a program in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is Monday, January 16. The program will take place on Thursday, January 19, at 6 p.m. during one of the school's parent engagement events.

"As a culminating event for what second-graders are learning, they will present a birthday celebration to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.," said Hartley second grade teacher Tuesday Battle.

Second-graders will perform songs during the program and a student speaker will share a synopsis of Dr. King's life. Birthday cake and punch will be served.

Parents, teachers, staff, and community members are invited to attend.
