Students and parents are invited to
Lane Elementary School for
Literacy Night on Friday, February 3, from 5-7 p.m.
"Reading enhances learning and it is the common thread which links all content areas across the curriculum," said Lane Principal Georglyn Stephens.
Guests from the community have been invited to read and tell stories to students at the event. There will also be a variety of literacy stations for students and parents to visit, including:
• Word-o
• Bookwalk
• Book swap
• Fishing for sight words
• Camping with a good book
• "Look who grew up reading"
• Bookmark making
• Write a postcard
• Listening and watching e-books
Each student attending will receive a free book. Barnes and Noble gift cards, which have been donated by the school's teachers, will be given away as door prizes.
