Student & Community Strategic Planning Survey
September 30, 2011

On Monday, September 19, more than 4,000 people attended the Bibb County School District’s first day of Strategic Planning. A great deal of feedback was provided by employees, parents, community members, and business, faith-based, and community leaders.

The District is now seeking feedback from middle and high school students and people who did not participate on Monday, September 19. An online survey question has been developed to seek that feedback, and it will be live from Monday, October 3 through Wednesday, October 5 at http://schools.bibb.k12.ga.us/SPAdults.

“We truly want to gather everyone’s thoughts and opinions to develop our Strategic Plan because the changes and improvements we will be making will have a long-lasting and positive impact on the entire community,” says Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand. “It is especially important that our students be involved since they should be the focus of every person in Bibb County.”

Students will be given time during the school day (see below schedule) to complete an online survey question. Parents will be contacted either by their schools, Family Engagement Facilitators, Parent Advocates, or Parent Trainers. Community members who did not attend the session on Monday, September 19 are also being encouraged to participate.

“This is the first time a district has attempted a Strategic Planning process with this level of stakeholder engagement,” adds Dr. Dallemand. “This will not be a Strategic Plan for just the District; it will be a roadmap that every community member will be able to follow to improve our students’ lives and their ability to be successful.”

Students will be taking the survey on the following days. The media are invited to come speak with students at that time; contact Director of Public Relations Chris Floore at 390-8258 to schedule a visit.
