The Bibb County School District's Welcome Center and Parent-Teacher Resources Lab will begin hosting events for parents and their students this month with a Summer Academic and Enrichment Fair on Tuesday, April 24, from 6-8 p.m. A Parent and Student Information Festival, and parent workshops will follow at the Welcome Center the next week.
More than 25 camps and programs will be represented for parents and community members to speak with and receive information from during the Summer Academic and Enrichment Fair on April 24. Families will be partnered with sports, outdoor adventure, arts, and programs for exceptional children guidance counselors to collaborate on the most efficient camps suitable to meet the needs of each family and child.
On Saturday, May 5, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. the Welcome Center will host a Parent and Student Information Festival called "How Do I … ?" During this festival, school and community representatives and vendors will provide parents with helpful information about school zones, tracking students' grades, class schedules, nutrition, school projects, opening a college savings account, and more.
The Welcome Center also will begin offering parent workshops in May. Workshops already scheduled include sessions on mathematics, parenting skills, and healthy meals:
